Energy Literacy Workshop – Warwick

Do you assist clients struggling with energy bills and want to learn more about how you can help them and what assistance is available? Do you want to be involved in a conversation about energy issues in your region?

If you are a frontline worker for a community organisation who assists clients with energy related information, advice or referrals – for example financial counsellors, housing support workers, emergency relief, NILS providers - this workshop is for you.

This is an interactive session with lots of opportunities for questions, discussion and problem solving with the group.

Key content:
The workshop will cover:

  • An introduction to the electricity market and what is driving electricity prices
  • How to read and understand your energy bill.
  • Energy efficiency tips to help reduce your costs.
  • How to access government concessions, including the Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme (HEEAS).
  • Advice for negotiating affordable payment plans and avoiding disconnection.
  • A session with Ergon Energy about their Customer Assist Program.
  1. An opportunity to discuss emerging energy issues and trends in your local community.
