headspace is Australia’s Youth Mental Health Foundation, established in 2006. This holistic service provides support for young people aged 12-25 in areas of Mental health and wellbeing, drug and alcohol use, employment and education, and physical health care. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the Youth Mental Health Initiative Program.

headspace Meadowbrook unites a Consortium of 13 local Government and Non-Government bodies, including the Lead Agency- Aftercare.

The centre is based on a primary, preventative and early intervention care model, providing a multidisciplinary team of professionals assisting with social recovery and wellbeing, drug and alcohol issues, mental health, educational, employment and vocational support, as well as health promotion, support with health literacy and attention to chronic disease. The centre is community driven and youth focussed and advocates for youth involvement and empowerment through an active Youth Reference Group.

headspace Meadowbrook will additionally have a headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program, which is an integrated service for young people (12-25) experiencing their first episode of psychosis, or deemed at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis.

Friends of headspace Meadowbrook offers an opportunity for interested parties to come together and connect on related issues, engage in knowledge exchange and work together in our vision to improve young people’s mental health, social and emotional wellbeing through collaboration and community-minded care.
