QCOSS and PeakCare have been working together to host and support a Child and Family Sector Policy and Advocacy Network. The aim of the Network is to progress collaborative policy and advocacy on child and family matters in Queensland.

The child protection and family support sector in Queensland is expanding and changing significantly. Government continues to develop and implement policy reforms that directly impact on the work of the non-government child and family support sector, often with limited community and sector consultation. Community sector policy analysts and developers would benefit from networking to share ideas.

The Network will be an open space for policy officers working in the child and family space to work together on shared areas of interest.  It is an opportunity to:

  • Engage in regular dialogue about emerging policy issues
  • Identify common policy issues and opportunities for complementary positions
  • Strengthen policy advocacy in the sector
  • Consult and engage on key policy changes and reform directions.
